Today, Alain recommends a new place to taste excellent local food at low prices tracks. The cafe restaurant is called "Le Fix", it is located in the area of the international organizations on Avenue de France.  From Cornavin train station, it is located just a few stops away with tramway 15 (direction "Nations").

I was taking a training in the area, and I found out about the place by chance. I did not know any restaurant around for lunch so I wandered around. Then I noticed Le Fix because it looked welcoming and lots of people were seating on the terrace. I was not disappointed.

Le Fix offers light lunches, pastries and coffees that are made exclusively with local natural ingredients from the Geneva countryside. For lunch, I really liked their choice of quiches with vegetables and/or cheese and soups. For dessert, their homemade pastries all looked very appealing. I went every time for the brownie :-)

What is nice there (and not so common in Geneva) is that the staff is really welcoming and smiling. On top, they have a nice little terrace for the summer and a cosy restaurant space inside. I noticed it was rapidly packed at lunch time. I guess a lot of people working around at the UNO , Red Cross or students from the neighboring universities come here.

Finally, the prices are more than decent for Geneva standard. Going out of the place, you feel that you ate well and healthy. I heard that they are also present on the open-market of Plainpalais with a ruck on Sundays between 9am and 2pm for cafes, capuccino, teas, and pastries.
